- שְׁגַרII (preced.; cmp. גָּרָה) to heat. Targ. Ez. 39:9.Sabb.109b שָׁגְרָא תנוראוכ׳ she heated the oven and swept it Part. pass. שְׁגִיר; f. שְׁגִירָא. Yoma 29a תנורא ש׳ a hot oven (in which it is easy to kindle a fresh fire), opp. קְרִירָא.
